G’day!  It’s that time of the year again when things seem to speed up, the weather gets all hot and steamy and Santa is pulling on his red suit in the ready for delivering his big bags of pressies. (Wouldn’t it be nice if we could still believe in that?) The way of the world is so magical from a child’s eyes and it’s sad that we lose some of that wonderment as we become more “mature”. I think it’s about time we tore off the shackles, reclaimed our sense of wonder and danced in the rain, ate chocolates until we felt sick and revelled in getting covered in mud instead of worrying about how the hell we are going to get the mucky stains out! Don’t you think?  I’m a passionate fan of Channel Sevens show Wild Boys and I was devastated on Sunday night when the final credits began to roll. Apparently the series will not be returning for a second season due to falling ratings. I pray this is wrong! How am I going to live without my fix of sexy bushrangers?! The deep forbidden love that burns between Jack and Mary is the kind of love that makes us ladies go wild ourselves! I love it! And what girls can resist the cheeky charm of Dan? Mind you, I even have a soft spot for the old Captain Gunpowder….you have to admit he’s a loveable old bugger! And now we are never going to see Jack and Mary end up together which is what we all wanted to happen. It would have been the perfect ending! Please Mr Channel Seven, you have to bring this show back! We beg of you! So sorry to be the bearer of bad news for all you Wild Boys fans out there. I promise I will be bringing the bushranger sexiness into novel 4. Penguin already have the synopsis in their hot little hands and word is that they love the concept. I am really excited to bring the characters I have in my head to life on the page. It will be loads of fun. I agree with you, Mandy. I enjoyed watching Wild Boys, and wasn't happy with Channel 7 for axing it. I was even more upset with the out-of-character ending. Fuller suddenly turned into Mr Nice Guy after doing his best to kill anyone who even looked sideways at him, Mary decides she'd rather have Mick than Dan (who could probably have worked at getting a pardon once Fife and the Butler gang were discovered as the real villains), and the whole Wild West scenario of walking into town to confront Frank Butler and his gang was so lame. Dan had other chances to shoot Butler and he didn't take them, in spite of Butler boasting how he killed the Ryan family. Sorry, scriptwriters, that was dumb. It was a good show and needed better writing than that.

Well said! I TOTALLY agree with everything you have mentioned here. I never like Fuller and he should not have turned out to be a good guy and what woman in her right mind would pick "screw his face up all the time" Mick over hunk fest Jack! OMG I was mortified!

It would be awesome to enjoy Santa and the X-mas period as a kid again, instead of having the GROWN-UP worries that tend to take over this time of year.
It is so, sooo SAD that Wild Boys is not returning, I so longed to watch the relationship triangle unfold and the demise of Fuller !!!! We will never know what happens now
I would love for you to write a Ned Kelly like - Outlaw themed novel Mandy, that would be fantastic Throw a little romance in, good old clean fighting and sexy bushrangers and I'm there !!! Cheers Fi xox

You might be interested to know that Michael Dorman who played an officer in the series will be hosting a fundraiser for Dry July at Fitness First Mt Gravatt in South Brisbane where he will be auctioning off a prop from the film - his officer's cap as well as the first series on DVD. Funds raised will go towards cancer patients at the Mater Adult Hospital. The fundraiser will also include a sausage sizzle and raffle on Monday 30th July.
